Maintenance Plan

We know that people have good intentions about keeping their mouth healthy, but for most at some time or another they forget to have a checkup, and then another. Two or three years pass by, and it feels as if it's only months.

To keep on top of this and reduce the risk of serious problems arising we have a monthly maintenance plan, which is the higher tier of our registration scheme. We set two months, each year six months apart, to be your checkup months. At these visits you have a routine examination and scaling. You pay a regular monthly amount by standing order to cover the cost of these. It provides other benefits shown to the right of the page.

Regular checks mean we are likely to pick up problems at an earlier stage, when they are easier and cheaper to deal with. Although we enjoy the challenge of complex work, we prefer not to need it for our regular patients, instead reserving it for new patients and those who only turn up every four or five years.

The current cost of the plan is £10.50 per month by standing order, or an annual pre-payment of £126. The cost will be reviewed annually and increases applied each January.

Advantages over those not on the plan

• 10% price reduction on any additional treatment at this practice, including cosmetic work. You may increase this by a further 1% by introducing a new patient to the practice, and if they also join the maintenance plan this is increased to 2%. This can be repeated, until you reach the maximum discount of 20%. Alternatively, you can swap a 2% reduction on treatment costs for a £1 monthly reduction on the cost of your plan.
• Access to the dentist via his mobile phone for emergency problems outside normal hours.
• Where you have an urgent problem (not involving external trauma) requiring investigation between your routine visits, the assessment (but not any treatment), including intra-oral radiographs, is free. Those not on the plan have to pay for the time for investigation and x-rays as well as treatment.
• You benefit by having extended guarantees on work carried out here, so long as you are already on the maintenance plan or join within three months of receiving the treatment. Those normally given one year become two, and those niormally two become five.
