Loose Teeth

Loose teeth

We have a new way of tightening up loose teeth (QSIANT). It works by killing bacteria that cause loosening, allowing your gum and bone to heal. Where bone loss is so severe that less than 25% of a tooth's length is supported we may be able to delay its loss by several years. Loosening teeth is often a late symptom of the effects of bacteria in the mouth and the following video clips will help you understand more about what is happening and why it's important to treat it.

The treatment steps

We drip an anaesthetic gel around the tooth and clean it. (Usually no injections are required, but some people ask for full numbing and we will do that for them, but it may increase the number of visits required. We can't numb all around the mouth in one visit.)

Squirt a new antibiotic paste (QSIANT) around the tooth. Unfortunately, the taste isn't good and we warn people of that, but it disappears after a few minutes.

The tooth starts to tighten over the next few days, and you may gradually increase the use of the tooth as healing progresses over the following weeks.

This is a unique treatment, unavailable anywhere else in the world. A Frequently Asked Question sheet is available to provide further background.
