One visit crowns
The traditional process of crowning teeth involves having the tooth prepared, a mould taken which goes to the laboratory and your wearing a temporary crown for a week or two. On your return the crown is fitted. The new way means a crown is made and fitted at one visit, saving you time off work, perhaps a second numbing, and costs the same as the old method.
Phobias/fears
Those with real phobias are unlikely to be reading this. It's more likely a relative or friend will be searching for something to help them. About 50% of people avoid dentistry until they develop severe problems. Many of these have had some bad experience, often as a child, or have fear based on what parents, family or friends have told them. Things have changed from our childhoods with many advances that allow gentle approaches.
Dental HELP
This stands for 'Dental Health Extending Life Programme'. It is estimated that those with poor dental health lose about 6 years of life compared with those with good dental health. There are specific areas we can concentrate on to bring back equality and these don't involve the higher cost areas of dentistry.
HealOzone
This is a special treatment, as comfortable as brushing your teeth, to reverse early decay without needing fillings. To reduce the need for any fillings regular checks and early application are required. In some circumstances bad tooth decay can be successfully treated this way.
Loose teeth
When teeth lose bone support they may loosen. If treated early enough this process can be halted, so that you can avoid having dentures.
Recession
On all of our minds at the moment is the recession, and this creates particular problems with dental care. Few people want to embark on extensive courses of treatment and tend to make do with cheaper options. Some to the detriment of their long-term dental health and well-being. We offer advice to minimise this effect.
