Fresh start Programme

New methods to treat teeth are combined in our 'FRESH START PROGRAMME'. These approaches eradicate decay-causing bacteria, allowing natural repair.

  • It is a fresh start for you, even if you have badly damaged teeth we can make them healthy.
  • It provides a fresh start for people who are fearful of conventional dentistry.
  • It builds confidence helping many to accept conventional treatment to improve appearance caused by disease or trauma.

This form of treatment costs less than conventional treatment over the long term. We detect and treat decay before pain occurs. Early intervention saves money, discomfort, anguish, and tooth loss.

 

 

Our aims for the Fresh Start Programme:

  1. To make treatment as comfortable as brushing your teeth, allowing the fear of conventional treatment to fade away.
  2. To eradicate tooth decay from your mouth, restoring health, comfort, and confidence.
  3. To allow damaged teeth to heal.
  4. To resurface healed teeth where food will trap making your mouth easier to clean.
  5. To show and explain how to prevent recurrence, providing materials required.

What is the Fresh Start programme?

  1. You make an appointment for examination of your mouth.
  2. Before coming, please brush thoroughly, avoiding eating, drinking other than water , or smoking for two hours before the appointment. We may test your saliva to assess whether it is likely to be protecting your teeth.
  3. Please list any drugs/medicines/nutritional supplements your are taking whether prescribed or not.
  4. We examine your mouth including a full Diagnodent Laser light reading. This gives an index of decay. If there are problems you will receive dietary information. If treatment is required you will be offered treatment appointments, otherwise a monitoring appointment will be offered.
  5.  At the first treatment appointment all decayed teeth will be treated with HealOzone, or Photo-Activated Disinfection. Unless the decay is very mild, you will then receive supplies of remineralising paste, mouthwash and mouth spray for home use over the next six weeks.
  6. At subsequent treatment appointments damaged teeth will be retreated with HealOzone or Photo-Activated Disinfection, and the surfaces sealed or resurfaced, if necessary.
  7. You will be offered regular monitoring.
